Student Account Access After Leaving ONU

Summary

ONU student accounts remain active for a limited time after a student graduates or withdraws. This article explains how long you will have access to your ONU email (@olivet.edu) and OneDrive files, what notifications you’ll receive, and what actions you should take before your account is closed.

Body

When you leave Olivet, you will have a limited period of time to access your Olivet accounts before they are terminated. Please use the following steps to ensure you do not lose access to any of your important data.

What happens to my account?

If you graduate

After graduation, your ONU account will remain active for 6 months. During this time, you will still be able to access:

  • ONU Email (username@olivet.edu)
  • Microsoft 365
  • OneDrive Files
  • All Adobe Access
  • Library Resources

Important: You will receive notification emails sent to your @olivet.edu email account indicating that your account is scheduled for termination. During those 6 months you should be sure to:

  • Update any services using your ONU email (job boards, subscriptions, social media, banking, etc.) to a personal email address.

  • Export or save any email messages you want to keep.

  • Download or transfer any OneDrive files you want to keep (to a personal cloud storage or an external drive).

After the 6 months, your ONU account (email + OneDrive) will be terminated and you will no longer be able to access it.

If you withdraw

After withdrawing, your ONU account will remain active for 14 days. This includes access to:

  • ONU Email (@olivet.edu)
  • Microsoft 365
  • OneDrive Files
  • All Adobe Access
  • Library Resources

After 14 days, your account will typically be disabled/terminated unless an exception applies.

Recommended actions

  • Move accounts tied to your ONU email to a personal email

  • Save important emails and attachments

  • Transfer OneDrive files you want to keep
