Replacing Toner Cartridges

Toner cartridges for Konica Minolta machines are automatically shipped by Konica when toner levels reach 20%, thanks to our auto-replenishment program. If you anticipate a high-volume print job and may need extra toner on hand, please contact IT in advance. Waste cartridges are an exception to this program and will need to be kept on-hand.

Replacing the toner cartridge on your Konica Minolta machines is a quick and straightforward process that helps maintain optimal print quality and keeps your device running smoothly.

Steps to Replace Toner

  1. Check the Display Panel: The printer will notify you when toner is low or empty.
  2. Open the Front Cover: Gently open the front panel to access the toner cartridges.
  3. Identify the Cartridge: Look for the indicated color (K = Black, C = Cyan, M = Magenta, Y = Yellow).
  4. Remove the Old Cartridge: Pull the cartridge out and place in campus recycling.
  5. Prepare the New Cartridge: Shake gently side-to-side to distribute the toner.
  6. Install the Cartridge: Slide it into the correct slot until it clicks securely.
  7. Close the Cover and Wait: The printer will initialize and recognize the new cartridge.

Steps to Replace Waste Toner Cartridge

  1. Open the Waste Toner Door: Usually located on the lower front or side panel.
  2. Pull Out the Full Cartridge: Be careful not to spill the contents.
  3. Dispose Safely: Pull the cartridge out and place in campus recycling.
  4. Install the New Cartridge: Push it into place until it clicks.
  5. Close the Door: The printer will detect the new waste cartridge and resume normal operation.

Troubleshooting and Tips

  • Use Genuine Supplies: Always use Konica Minolta-approved toner and waste cartridges.
  • Handle with Care: Avoid touching sensitive components or spilling toner.
  • Check Fit: Make sure cartridges are fully seated and locked into place.
  • Still Getting Warnings? Try removing and reinserting the cartridge or contact IT for support.
