New Account Setup

Your ONUnet account is used for logging into email.olivet.edu, campus wireless, canvas.olivet.edu, my.olivet.edu, and many other Olivet resources.

Once you have received your username (username@olivet.edu), please complete the following setup actions using both a computer and your phone.


Step 1 – First-Time Login

  1. Open a web browser on your computer and go to my.olivet.edu.
  2. Log in with your Olivet email and default password:
    • Example default password: “ONU-####abc
    • “ONU” is capitalized; don’t forget the hyphen after “ONU.”
    • Replace “####” with the last 4 digits of your Social Security Number. (If no SSN is on file, use the last 4 digits of your student ID).
    • Replace “abc” with the first 3 letters of your last name, lowercase.
  3. Once logged in, you will be prompted to change your password.
    • Minimum requirements: 12 characters with an uppercase, lowercase, number, and symbol.

Step 2 – Configure Multi-Factor Authentication

Olivet requires two methods of authentication for security. We strongly recommend using the Microsoft Authenticator App as your primary method.

  1. Download the Microsoft Authenticator app to your iPhone or Android.
  2. In the app, tap the "+" sign (upper-right) and select "Work or School account."
  3. On your computer screen, click Next until the QR code appears.
  4. Scan the QR code with your phone and tap "Approve" when prompted.
  5. Configure a backup method: Follow the prompts to add a second recovery method (like Text/SMS).

Note: Do not delete your @olivet.edu account from the app after setup, or you will lose access to your account.

Step 3 – Submit your Tiger Card Photo

Your Tiger Card provides access to secured buildings, meal plans, and campus resources.

From a Mobile Device (Recommended):

  1. Install the Transact eAccounts app from the App Store or Google Play.
  2. Select ONU (Olivet Nazarene University) from the list.
  3. Tap "ONU Login," sign in, then tap the gear icon (top-right) and select "Submit ID Photo."

From a Computer:

  1. Go to olivet.edu/eaccounts.
  2. Sign in, click "Profile" on the top ribbon, and click the blue "Click to submit a new photo" link.

Step 4 – Setup your Olivet ID

Wait 2 business days for your photo to be approved before completing this step.

  1. Open the Transact eAccounts app on your phone.
  2. Sign in and tap "Add to Apple Wallet" or "Add to Google Pay."
