Use the guide below to find MAC Addresses on your devices.
Google Home
- Ensure you have the Google Home application installed on your smartphone or mobile device.
- Open the application and set up your Google Home.
- To obtain the MAC Address, click the three lines on the top left inside the application.
- Select Devices, and then select your Google Home.
- Click on Settings, scroll down to information, and your MAC Address should be revealed.
Google Home Mini (Should be the same for both android and apple devices)
- Open up Google Home App
- Tap on plus that says “Add”
- Underneath Add to home tap on “ Set up device”
- Underneath New Devices tap on “ Set up new devices in your home”
- Tap and make sure “Home” is check or whatever home name you want
- Tap “Next”
- (Make sure the Mini is on) It will proceed to look for the Google Home Mini a eventually connect saying “Google Home Mini found”
- It will say “Would you like to set up this device?” tap on “Yes”
- It will then connect to the mini and say “ Connecting to Google Home Mini…”
- The Google Mini will make a jingle sound asking “ Did you hear the sound”
- Tap on “Yes”
- It will say “Help improve Google Home Mini” the clients choice if they want to , tap on “No Thanks” or “ Yes, I’m in”
- It will say “Where is this device”, set it to the location where the clients wants it and then tap “Next”
- It will say “Connect to Wi-Fi” here you will tap on the top right corner on the 3 vertical dots.
- A drop down menu will show and read “Submit feedback report” and “Show MAC address” tap on “ Show MAC address”
- A window will pop on the center of your screen with the google Home mini’s MAC address
Chromecast
First ensure that you have the Google Cast application, which can be found on the App Store and Google Play Store for both iOS and Android devices. Also, make sure that your Chromecast is plugged into an available HDMI port and powered via its included USB cable.
iOS
- Open the Settings application.
- Select Wi-Fi and connect to the broadcasted Chromecast SSID (e.g. Chromecast0256).
- Once connected, navigate to and open the Google Cast application.
- Follow the prompts until you see the screen that displays the MAC Address.
Android
- Open your phone’s device settings.
- Under “Wireless & networks,” touch Wi-Fi.
- Connect to the broadcasted Chromecast SSID (e.g. Chromecast0256).
- Once connected, navigate to and open the Google Cast application.
- Follow the prompts until you see a screen that displays the MAC Address.
Amazon Echo
- Download Amazon Alexa app to a phone or computer (It’s free for iOS, Android and Fire OS)
- Sign in with Amazon Account
- Connect to the wireless network transmitted by the Echo device.
- The wireless MAC address for Echo can be found at the bottom of the Echo Setup
screen in the Alexa app.
Fire Stick
- From the Home screen, press Menu.
- Select Settings. You should see the Wi-Fi MAC Address located in the Device Info section.
Apple TV
NOTE: This device supports both a wired and wireless connection. Be sure you know what type of connection you will be using for the corresponding MAC address.
- Select Settings.
- Select About.
- The MAC address will be displayed as “Ethernet ID” or “Wireless ID” depending on your preference.
Roku
NOTE: This device supports both a wired and wireless connection. Be sure you know what type of connection you will be using for the corresponding MAC address.
- From the Home screen, press Up on your remote and the Menu Bar should appear.
- Select Settings.
- Select Player Info.
- The MAC address will be displayed.
Samsung TV/ Smart TV
NOTE: This device supports both a wired and wireless connection. Be sure you know what type of connection you will be using for the corresponding MAC address.
- Select Network Settings.
- Select Network Status.
- The MAC address will be displayed.

Nintendo DS
To obtain the MAC Address from a Nintendo DS, you must first insert a Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection compatible game and access the WFC Setup Utility. Note that the exact steps to access the setup utility varies by game. However, the setup utility is a standard menu, included with all WFC-compatible games.
After accessing the utility, tap "Options," then "System Information."
The MAC Address and Nintendo WFC ID will be listed on the screen. Unless the game player has successfully connected with Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, the WFC ID will be blank.
Nintendo Wii or Wii U
To locate the MAC address of your Wii or Wii U console:
- Start your Wii(or Wii U), without a disc..
- Click the Wii button at the bottom of the start screen.
- Click Wii Settings.
- Go to the Next Set of settings, by selecting the arrow on the right.
- Click Internet.
- Select Console information.
- The MAC Address will then come up on the next page.
Nintendo Switch
- Select System Settings from the HOME Menu.
- Scroll down through the menu and select Internet.
- The Nintendo Switch console's MAC address will be listed under System MAC Address.
PlayStation 2
To find the MAC address of your Sony PlayStation 2 you will need the Network Adaptor connected to the PS2 and you will need the disc that came with the Network Adaptor. Then follow these steps:
- Power up the PlayStation 2 and load the Network Adaptor Startup Disc.
- Once it has loaded, select "ISP Setup" and press X on your controller.
- The ISP Setup will begin to load, and you will be presented with a license agreement. Select Agree and press X to continue.
- For connection type, choose "Local Area Network (LAN)" and press X to continue.
- Select "Automatic Configuration" and press X to continue.
- At the connection test screen, select "Advanced" and press X to continue.
- At the "Advanced Broadband Settings" screen, make sure "Automatic" is selected. While you are at this screen, make note of the MAC address at the bottom. Some of the PS2 games also have the ability to list your MAC address, but the above steps are the C&IT Help Desk's preferred way of finding the MAC.
PlayStation 3
To locate the MAC address of your Playstation 3 console:
- Start up your PlayStation 3 without a disk in the drive.
- Find the System Settings icon and select the X.
- Click System Information and press the X.
- Your Mac Address will display.
PlayStation 4
To locate the MAC address of your Playstation 4 console:
- Start up your PlayStation 4 without a disk in the drive.
- Find the System Settings icon and select the X.
- Click System Information and press the X.
- Your Mac Address will display.
PSP
To find the MAC address of your PlayStation Portable (PSP):
- Navigate to "System Settings"
- Then navigate to "System Information", which is where the MAC address is listed.
Xbox
To find the MAC address of your XBox:
- Turn on your Xbox console with no game disc in the disc tray. From the Xbox Dashboard, choose Xbox Live. These steps assume you cannot connect to Xbox Live until you finish configuring your Xbox console to use your PC's MAC address. Therefore, you should receive the following message: "Could not connect to Xbox Live. Do you want to troubleshoot your network connection?".
- From the Connect Status screen, select Settings. The 12-digit number at the bottom-right corner of the
- Network Settings screens is the MAC address of your Xbox console. Do not change your Xbox console
- MAC address, just write it down and call us.
Xbox 360
To locate the MAC address of your Xbox 360 console:
- Go to the System area of the Xbox Dashboard and select Network Settings. Select Edit Settings.
- From Additional Settings, select Advanced Settings.
- Select Edit Settings.
- At the bottom of this screen you'll see a heading called Wired MAC Address.
Xbox One
To locate the MAC address of your Xbox console:
- Go to My Xbox in the Xbox Dashboard and select Settings.
- In the Settings pane, select Network.
- Select Advanced Settings from the Network Settings tab.
- At the bottom of this screen you'll see a heading called Wired MAC.
