How you connect to the ONU networks depends on which network you need to join. Here is a breakdown of each Wi-Fi network:
ONU
Requires an Olivet username and password (i.e. Students & Employees).
- Intended for:
- Smartphones
- Tablets
- Laptops
- Desktop computers
Your Olivet username is your Olivet email address without the “@olivet.edu” handle.
ONUGuest
For guests without an Olivet account, they will need to connect to this network. 24-hour limited access after registration.
ONU-IoT
Requires an Olivet username and password. In order to manually connect to this hidden wireless network, you will first need to register your device.
- Intended for:
- Smart devices
- Entertainment devices
- Gaming devices
- Other devices not compatible with “ONU” network
- Wireless printers are not supported on ONU Wi-Fi.
How to Connect to ONU
Most devices require only these 3 steps:

In your device's Wi-Fi settings, select the “ONU” network .

Enter your Olivet username and password. (username is without “@olivet.edu.”)

Select “Trust” or “Connect” (depending on your device) if prompted for a Wi-Fi certificate.
If the above steps do not work, your device may require special steps to connect to “ONU.” (Android devices and Chromebooks often fall under this category.)

Open Wi-Fi Settings. (may vary by device)

Ensure Wi-Fi is turned on, then tap “ONU.”

- Set up the following settings:
- Identity: ONU-AD\yourusername (username is without “@olivet.edu.” Use back slash, not forward slash.)
- Password: (your Olivet email password)
- CA certificate: Use system certificates
- Domain: olivet.edu
- EAP method: PEAP
- Phase 2 authentication: MSCHAPV2
- Anonymous identity: (leave blank)
- MAC address type: Phone MAC (or Device MAC)

Tap “Connect.”
If you have difficulty connecting, try forgetting the network and try again.
