Your ONUnet account is used for accessing Wi-Fi, your Olivet email, Canvas, and many other Olivet resources.
Once you receive your Olivet username (emailed to you by Admissions), please complete the following instructions using both a computer and your phone.
Account Setup
First-time Login
- Open a web browser on your computer and go to my.olivet.edu.
- Log in using your Olivet email (username@olivet.edu) and the default password:
- Example default password: “ONU-####abc”

- ONU: uppercase
- hyphen (dash) after “ONU”
- ####: the last 4 digits of your Social Security Number
- If your SSN is not on file, use the last 4 digits of your student ID number instead. (emailed to you by Admissions)
- abc: the first 3 letters of your last name, lowercase
- Once logged in, you will be prompted to create your own password.
(If this does not happen, you must change your password manually at myaccount.microsoft.com under the “Change Password” item located in the left menu.)
- Minimum password requirements:
- 12 characters: uppercase, lowercase, number, and symbol.
- Must not be a password you have previously used with any Microsoft account.
- We recommend that you avoid complete words in your password.
All passwords must be kept confidential; we will never ask for your password.
Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
Olivet requires two methods of authentication for security. We strongly recommend the Microsoft Authenticator App for your primary method.
- Install the Authenticator app.
- In the app, tap the “+” icon in the upper-right corner and select “Work or School account.”
- On your computer, click “Next” until you reach the QR code.
- Scan the QR code with your phone and tap “Approve” when prompted.
- Configure a backup method: Follow the prompts to add a second recovery method (ex. Text/SMS).
Do not delete your @olivet.edu account from the Authenticator app after setup or you will lose access to your account.
Digital ID (TigerCard) Setup
Your ID provides access to secured buildings, meal plans, and other campus resources.
- Install the Transact eAccounts app
- Select ONU (Olivet Nazarene University) from the list.
- Tap “ONU Login,” sign in, then tap the gear icon (top-right corner) and select “Submit ID Photo.”
Please wait 2 business days for your ID photo to be approved before completing these next steps.
- Open the Transact eAccounts app on your phone.
- Sign in and tap “Add to Apple Wallet” or “Add to Google Pay.”
