This article will help you register and connect Xbox, PlayStation, Apple TV, Internet Enabled TV, Roku, and other streaming devices on campus.
NOTE - Personal wireless printers are not compatible with any of our networks. Please connect directly to a personal printer via USB.
There are two ways to connect entertainment devices.
- Plugging it in to an Ethernet Port using an Ethernet cable. This is will give the best performance.
- Connecting to a special hidden wireless network named game-stream .
Both methods require you to first register your device's wired or wireless MAC address (these are different), at registermydevice.olivet.edu

Registering Entertainment Device:
Connecting entertainment devices via Ethernet:
- Connect your device to an Ethernet port. If you device is wireless only, please see instructions below.
- Go to registermydevice.olivet.edu . You need to be connected to the ONUnet network to access this site.
- Log in using your ONUnet username and password (do not include @olivet.edu for the username).
- Create a Device. Add your device's wired MAC address along with other required information. (note: each device will have a unique MAC address for both for its wireless and wired connection if applicable)
Connecting entertainment devices via wireless to our special hidden wireless network named game-stream:
- Please locate your device's Wireless Mac Address, (Please note that you must locate the wireless MAC address and not the Wired MAC address. Many devices have a wired and wireless MAC Address, please make sure to use the Wireless MAC address, in this case.) If you need help locating your MAC Address please follow our guide here.
- Once you locate your Wireless MAC Address, go to registermydevice.olivet.edu . (You need to be connected to the ONUnet network to access this site.)
- Log in using your ONUnet username and password (do not include @olivet.edu for the username).
- Create a Device. Add your device's wireless MAC address along with other required information. (note: each device will have a unique wireless MAC address)
- After you register your device, please wait 1 full hour before trying to connect your device, since it can take up to 1 hour for the device to be fully registered.
- Connect your device to a special hidden wireless network named game-stream. You will not see this wireless network in the list. You have to connect to other and type in game-stream manually. Security should be set to None. No Password
Connecting a computer via Ethernet cable:
- Enter your ONUnet username and password if prompted the first time you connect.
Sharing AppleTV:
- Use a wired connection.
- When registering the wired MAC address at registermydevice.olivet.edu Check the Enable AirGroup box and enter the ONUnet usernames of others to allow them to connect to your AppleTV.

I don't have enough Ethernet ports in my room? You may purchase and use an Ethernet switch. Note: Make sure you do not purchase a Router. Routers will not work and often cause problems for others.
