Entertainment Device Registration

Looking to connect your Xbox, PlayStation, Apple TV, Roku, Smart TV, or other streaming device on campus? You’ve come to the right place!

Heads-up before you begin:

  • Wireless printers are not supported. Please plug them in directly via USB.
  • Samsung TVs don't work on the network. This is due to Samsung's lack of enterprise networks. We have an open ticket with them on this issue. We recommend buying a streaming device to connect to the TV's HDMI port in the meantime.
  • For TCL Fire TVs you will need to obtain its mac address by connecting it to a hotspot and viewing its mac address once it is connected.

Two ways to connect your device:

  1. Ethernet (Best Performance): Plug your device into the Ethernet port for a fast, stable connection once your device its registered with the wired/ethernet mac address.
  2. Wireless via game-stream: This is a hidden Wi-Fi network you can connect to once your device is registered with its wireless mac address.

You must register your device’s MAC address (wired or wireless, depending on connection type) at registermydevice.olivet.edu before connecting.

Need help finding your MAC address?

Option 1: Connect via Ethernet

  • Connect your device to the Ethernet port in your room.
  • Go to registermydevice.olivet.edu while connected to ONUnet.
  • Log in with your ONUnet credentials (username only—don’t add @olivet.edu).
  • Create a device entry and enter the wired MAC address. Here’s how.

Option 2: Connect via Wi-Fi (game-stream)

  • Find your device’s wireless MAC address (not the wired one). Here’s how.
  • Register the device at registermydevice.olivet.edu while on ONUnet.
  • Log in, then enter the wireless MAC address when creating the device record.
  • Wait one full hour before trying to connect—registration may take a bit to process.
  • Manually connect to the hidden game-stream network:
    • Choose “Other Network” on your device.
    • Type in game-stream as the SSID.
    • Set security to None (no password).

Special Tips

  • Apple TV Sharing: Use Ethernet. While registering, check “Enable AirGroup” and add friends’ ONUnet usernames so they can connect to your Apple TV.
  • Need more Ethernet ports? Use an Ethernet switch—not a router (routers cause network issues).
